Theatre Royal, Nottingham

Built in 1865 by wealthy Lace Manufacturers – the Theatre Royal Nottingham is often referred to as The Grand Old Lady of Nottingham.

As part of the multimillion pounds refurbishment in 2017 Future Fire Solutions were appointed to provide internal and external fire-rated and non-fire-rated door sets to streamline the flow of customers throughout the Victorian building and provide modern fire protection that would contain the danger should a fire occur.

Although requiring protection, the theatre wanted the Doors to maintain a high level of aesthetics befitting of such an iconic, historical building

FFS manufactured and installed a mixture of Schuco Janisol framed door sets, Forster profiled door sets and also frameless Lunax door sets. The latter offering protection of up to 60 minutes from the spread of fire, whilst also insulating any escapee from transferred heat thus allowing vital time for the theatre to be evacuated. These frameless Lunax doors are the cutting edge of fire protection and demonstrate the possibilities of modern safety technologies
