FFS were tasked to provide a fully fire-rated atrium Curtain Wall System that enclosed the rear courtyard. Working with our partners at Schuco the design and build contract includedThe utilization of the Schuco Systems allowed for a fully unitized solution across the differing levels of protection required.
One of the main challenges of the project for FFS was the lack of space in the working area. This meant that the oversize fire rated DGUs (250kg) needed to be hoisted into position via a Tower Crane within a very tight space and maneuvered into the curtain wall system by the installers at each level.
The resulting glazing provides a modern and elegant aesthetic to the public space, flooding the enclosed courtyard with natural light whilst providing the maximum protection for building users.
